Your weekly service fee will be fixed for life if you sign up to become a Wanaka Retirement Village resident before Sunday 31 March 2013. Knowing your fee is set will give you peace of mind when managing your budget, and that's a big plus.
Another plus is the happy, caring community the Village has become in the two years since officially opening. Residents can be as solitary as they wish or join in the various activities they arrange for themselves on a regular basis.
There are just four brand new homes remaining to be sold under the Occupational Right Agreement (ORA) process: one upstairs apartment with great views is now only $320,000 with a $104.27 weekly fee; two well-positioned Villas are priced at $399,000; one Villa near the Village entrance is just $420,000; and all Villas have a $109.48 weekly fee. This fee covers gardening, building maintenance, rates, building insurance and the cost of routine services provided by the Statutory Supervisor.
All these very spacious homes have two-bedrooms, are positioned for the sun, and the quality fixtures and fittings are those you usually see in homes of much higher cost.
The only Apartment available is No 27. It has great views and you will enjoy the recessed deck outside your door. The stairs down to the courtyard are nearby if you like to keep fit — adjacent to the very quiet lift for the times when a ride is more suitable.
Villas 11 and 12 also have great views and all-day sun. They are a mirror-image of each other so outside entertainment areas do not look over each other. Villa 3 is third on the left inside the Village entrance and nearer to the Common Room and courtyard.
Alongside the Village is Elmslie House Home & Hospital. Some services such as meals and cleaning can be arranged on a payment basis from this popular home.
